Sunrise is the kennel name that our dogs have been going by since we started in dogs over 20 years ago. Our first breed was Cocker Spaniels, we then had Irish Setter for a short while, but we found that Golden Retrievers were the breed that best fit our personality and life style. Our first Golden became a champion in 1984 and we have been hooked ever since. We have owned and/or produced 17 champions. We have dabbled in obedience, agility, tracking and field but mostly for exercise and fun. Our greatest success has been in seeing the joy that our pet puppies have brought to their families. We are active in conformation showing but our top priorities are health and temperament. The greatest show dog is no good if it is not healthy and good tempered. This is such  a competitive breed to show that only a small percentage will actually become champions, most of the rest will be someones family pet. We keep this fact in mind when we do a breeding. We are now on our 4^th generation of homebred dogs.
